And we also expect to announce the location of a Tesla Gigafactory in China soon. - [Galileo] And will that second factory, when you announce it, will it be in North America or is that gonna be in China? - [Elon] Well, I just said it's in China. - [Galileo] So, the Gigafactory's there, but the second manufacturing plant will be in China -- - [Elon] Oh, sorry, yeah, so, sorry.
In the future, all Gigafactories will include vehicle production. - That's huge. - [Elon] So, right now, factory production and motor power electronics and charging production are a Giga, and future Gigafactories will all incorporate vehicle production. - [Galileo] Got it, thank you. - So, yeah, lots to talk about there. Let me pull up the article that was also interesting related to this. Okay, so, some thing to unpack there. First off, it's been sort of widely reported that Tesla is likely going to build it in Shanghai, so that's speculated although they haven't officially announced that. Fair enough, we get that out of the way. They're gonna announce it later this year. Check, awesome, these new Gigafactories will also make cars, now that also could be a sign that Gigafactory 1 in Sparks, Nevada will also start to make cars. Now, he didn't explicitly say that, but when you're talking about the Semi, Model Y, Roadster, although that's small-batch production, pick-up truck, everything else, the Gigafactory would make a whole lot of sense because there's still a ton of room there, stuff hasn't been built yet, and it's right where they make the battery packs. So why wouldn't you put it right there, or somewhere that's very accessible? I do think that it makes a lot of sense, and so obviously the one in China, rumors are that it will be in Shanghai, that will be a fully-owned facility, meaning it doesn't have to be in partnership with a Chinese-owned company or anything like that, that can be 100% owned by themself, so Elon even gave them a shout-out, I didn't play it here, but he did give them a shout-out about that later. That will be there, I mean this to me was some of the biggest news out of the whole thing. But because of all the drama earlier, and all of the other stuff, it's kinda under-reported. I think this is super interesting, and I'll go ahead and put money on the line. Five bucks says that Gigafactory One will start to make cars some day, some day, I don't know when, obviously, or else I could predict the future, which would be cool. So let me know what you guys think about that. I found that to be fascinating. Now, there's another report here about Porsche installing these ultra-fast 350 kilowatt chargers. Now, recap, refresher, get our learning hats on, kilowatt hours is how much energy a battery can store, so like a sixty or hundred kilowatt hour battery pack. Kilowatts is how fast it can accept that charge. So, think of it as when you plug in, are you going at a hundred kilowatts, two-hundred kilowatts, that means you're getting twice as much energy into the battery, so at a faster rate. The battery itself is still a kilowatt hour, it's like unrelated to this. So those are the kind of terminology here. Now, I want to talk about this 'cause Gali, Galileo from Hyperchange TV asked this as well, and I thought it was interesting the analogy Elon used to explain it, so here you go, here's that clip from the Earnings call. - [Galileo] Awesome, great stuff. I'm also wondering, are you guys gonna let Porsche beat you to market with a 350 kilowatt hour supercharger, because I know you might change your E3 -- - [Elon] Why don't you ask questions that are not boring? (Elon laughs) - [Galileo] I can keep going. The 350 kilowatt charger from Porsche, if they mentioned they're rolling that out, on the last call, JP indicated that you're sort of going to keep the status quo with your supercharger technology, but Elon, I know you mentioned that there is a V3 supercharger, so I'm just trying to get some clarity on whether you will be improving your supercharger technology or not and if there's a V3.
